Data and Code for: Forward-Only Temporal-Coherence Occupancy Regimes in Atlantic Tropical Cyclone Intensity Evolution (1851–2024)

Minimal public reproducibility package for the manuscript: “Forward-Only Temporal-Coherence Occupancy Regimes in Atlantic Tropical Cyclone Intensity Evolution (1851–2024)” This release updates the public mathematical presentation of the diagnostic following peer review. The original pairwise-agreement presentation is reduced to an equivalent common-directional-sign temporal-coherence formulation. An algebraic audit demonstrates that the simplified formulation is mathematically identical to the previous presentation and produces identical activation states, occupancy durations, episode counts, storm-level occupancy values, and RI-stratification outputs. The implementation uses causal rolling means over 3-, 5-, and 9-advisory windows, computes one-step tendencies using the exact telescoping identity, defines temporal coherence as a common non-zero directional sign across all three tendencies, applies a two-advisory persistence requirement, and computes occupancy as cumulative duration in the active temporal-coherence state. RI is treated only as a downstream outcome layer for stratification and regime comparison. This package is not an operational RI forecast model.
