资源简介:
The objective of this study was to investigate the saturation levels of nitrogen, oxygen and argon in seawater at a remote Arctic location, and provide information on microbial productivity using Delta-O2/Ar (ΔO2/Ar) and Delta-N2/Ar (ΔN2/Ar) ratios. Discrete water-column measurements were made aboard the IB Oden during the Arctic Ocean 2018 (AO2018) expedition to the central Arctic Ocean in August and September 2018. This expedition is also referred to as the MOCCHA expedition (Microbiology-Ocean-Cloud-Coupling in the High Arctic) and was conducted in the high-latitude regions of the ice-covered central Arctic Ocean. This dataset contains saturation values for nitrogen gas (N2), oxygen gas (O2), and argon gas (Ar) saturation along with Delta-O2/Ar and Delta-N2/Ar ratios. The results are contained in a CSV file and the units for the measurements are percent (%) for N2, O2 and Ar, and are dimensionless for Delta-O2/Ar and Delta-N2/Ar ratios. Samples were collected in the upper 200 meters (m) of the water column at an ice floe drift station using ship-based conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD)/Rosette system, at an open lead (OL) site adjacent to the ice floe and a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) hole through the ice floe. The data were collected as part of the MjOLNIR project (Microbial Oceanography Links to New aerosols in Ice-covered Regions in the Arctic Ocean) funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs with additional logistics and science support from the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat.
