资源简介:
Here we include the initial dataset acquired to develop the study presented in the article “Petro-mineralogical controls on seismic attenuation in volcanic rock samples”
File ‘Data’ = Petrophysical properties of 25 core samples of volcanic rocks from cored boreholes on The Big Island of Hawai’i.
Folder ‘Waveforms’= Folder 'raw': seismic ultrasonic waveforms recorded on each sample. Time in seconds and amplitude in voltage. Acquired using shear-type transducers with a piezoelectric crystal of 13 mm and a characteristic frequency of 1 MHz. The pulse repetition frequency was set at 100 Hz and the pulser voltage at 400 V using an ultrasonic square wave pulser/receiver unit (Olympus 5077PR). Folder 'Filtered': seismograms filtered (Butterworth bandpass between 20-800 kHz) used to compute Qc.
Folder ‘Optical Images’= optical images under plane polarised light. The samples were imaged using a Zeiss Axio Imager M2m optical imaging system, with a magnification of 2.5x.
Folder ‘uCT’= 2D slice images generated from the micro-CT scanner (Versa XRM 500 from Zeiss-XRadia) with a resolution of 4.2527 μm for the sample 1H, and 22 μm for samples 9H, 11H, 14H and 18H..
