Sigma BI Analyst

**Overview:**

The Sigma BI Analyst App allows you to easily extract and analyze metadata from your BI environments. Currently the app supports Tableau, Power BI, and Looker. Understanding your BI environments is the vital first step in any BI rationalization or migration program with Hakkoda.

**How it works:**

The app connects to the API of your BI tool (Tableau, Looker, or Power BI) and extracts relevant metadata. The metadata is then transformed and loaded into your Snowflake account where the user can directly query it. This means that your data and secrets NEVER leave your environment. Once data is loaded from a BI tool, the app can then connect to the user's Sigma account to automatically generate a visual analysis!

**Workflow:**

1. Click 'Request' and submit required fields in this listing
2. Hakkoda team will get into contact with you and share the application
3. Once shared, navigate to Data Products -> Apps and click 'Get' under in the Sigma BI Analyst card
4. Open the app
5. Click 'Configure' for the BI tool you want to analyze
6. As prompted submit API credentials
7. Click 'Execute Job'
8. Return to app home page and await metadata extraction
9. Near the bottom of the home screen in the Sigma section, click the 'Configure'
10. Submit Sigma API credentials and complete the workflow
11. The automated BI assessment workbooks shall now be configured in your Sigma account

**Required Permissions:**

The Sigma BI Analyst will request the following privileges from users on startup. The app uses these privileges to provision necessary objects for metadata extraction and storage.
