Sympathectomy effect on muscle clock

Characterization of the effect of perturbation of sympathetic nervous system (SNS) on skeletal muscle rhythmic transcriptome. Mice were anesthetized with 2% inhaled isoflurane and for chemical sympathectomy, 6 (OH)DA, (Sigma # 162957) was intramuscularly injected (50 mg/kg) into tibialis muscle every two alternate days for 2 weeks. Before each injection, 6-OHDA was freshly dissolved in 0.3% ascorbic acid. Mice were than incubated for 2 weeks after treatment to recover from the effects of the sympathectomy and anesthesia, before the collection of final muscle samples. For sympathectomy not injected muscle was used as Sham.
