2295. Size 81/4 in. by 5 in.; foll. 388. Nineteen lines in a page.

A copious Commentary (ممزوج) on the preceding work [ed note: i.e. احِصْن احَصِين], by ‘ALÎ B. SULṬÂN MUḤAMMAD (Harawî Ḳâri’, d. A.H. 1016 [= 1607-08 CE, ed note: now recorded as 1605-06], at Makkah). According to  Ḥ. Kh. iii. 73, it was composed in A.H. 1008 [=1599-1600 CE], and entitled الحرز الثمين. Cf. Stewart’s Cat. 175, ii.

It begins with the explanation of the introductory words of Ibn Jazarî,

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم اللهم صل علی سید الخلق محمد و علی آله و صحبه و سلم

Then follow, as the authentic text, the words given at the beginning of No. 346. The usual beginning, لا اله الخ (see no. 345), is mentioned here only as the reading of some MSS.

Well written. Slightly injured by insects.
