Spatially-varied viruses in soils drive the degradation of aquatic dissolved organic matter

Our study has selected spatially-varied soils from the NHHS and SLHS regions, and the soil bacteria and viruses were extracted and applied in microcosm experiments to investigate their effects on the dynamics of aquatic DOM. The degradation kinetics and molecular variations of the DOM, and the bacterial community were analyzed. The composition and potential functions of the viromes were revealed by metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs).
