Role of genetic ancestry in dengue virus infection in human skin

African ancestry is protective against severe dengue, but the mechanisms are not known. We studied dengue virus infection in human skin explants from genetically defined donors of European and African descent and determined gene expression to characterize effects of ancestry on immunity and infection.
