Process Parameters and Geometric Accuracy in Robotic Pellet Extrusion of Wood-Based Polylactic Acid (PLA) Composites

This dataset supports the findings reported in "Process Parameters and Geometric Accuracy in Robotic Pellet Extrusion of Wood-Based Polylactic Acid (PLA) Composites" (Ziada & Gomez-Gallegos, Materials Today Communications, 2026). The dataset contains four sheets: (1) the one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) experimental parameter matrix for 24 hollow-cube specimens produced using an ABB IRB 1600 robot with a KFM Eco 3D 18 pellet extruder; (2) raw dimensional measurements (cube height, wall thickness, and layer height) for all specimens across both materials (KCL Formi® 3D Nordic Birch PLA-20 and PLA-10), including signed deviations from nominal and deposition regime classification; (3) summary accuracy metrics (mean deviation, mean absolute error, standard deviation, and percentage error) per dimension and material; and (4) goodness-of-fit metrics and fitted coefficients for the second-order polynomial models of cube height as a function of nozzle temperature and extruder rotation speed in the stable deposition regime (Equations 8–9 in the manuscript).
