Petrographic insights into phosphate formation in L and LL ordinary chondrites - Dataset

This dataset supports the study of petrographic and chemical differences between L and LL chondrites, with a focus on phosphate evolution during thermal metamorphism. It contains quantitative measurements of phosphate (apatite and merrillite) abundances, grain sizes, and compositions in L, LL, and L/LL ordinary chondrites, covering a total analyzed area of ~2730 mm², as well as backscattered electron images and EDS-X data obtained by SEM. Data include phosphate modal abundances and individual compositions of apatites and merrillites across meteorites of varying petrologic types.
