The samples were collected from Ganapavaram Village, Bhimavaram mandalam of West Godavari district, and Ananantavaram village of Ongole mandal, Prakasham districts of Andhra Pradesh. The samples comprised the Shrimp samples of both healthy and EHP infected shrimp ponds. The Shrimp samples were immediately sealed in sterile plastic bags. They were then brought to the laboratory in frozen condition. In the laboratory the samples were thawed, cleaned and washed. All the samples were dissected and the gut including hepatopancreas was removed. The gut content & hepatopancreas content were carefully removed into a sterile slide and transferred into the Milli Q water. The gut content samples were packed into falcon tubes and sent to Eurofins Genomics India Pvt. Ltd. for metagenome extraction and sequencing purposes. The raw sequencing data was received and deposited in NCBI.
