Data used in the development and validation of the RQ7 model

Data collated for the development and validation of the RQ7 model, used to generate statistics, figures and maps for analysis.\nLineage: Building on the skills and lessons learned from an empirical model (Rim-FIM) and a simple conceptual model (TVD), the RQ7 model predicts flood inundation extent, depth, volume, and duration by leveraging remote sensing data, gauged streamflow, and high-resolution DEMs. The model has been validated against water extents derived from remote sensing and hydrodynamic modelling results for seven river reaches across the Murray-Darling Basin (MDB). It can be applied throughout the MDB to analyse the spatial and temporal characteristics of floodplain inundation under historical conditions and for scenario-based planning.
