This study focused on understanding and modifying the sphingolipid biosynthesis pathway in the yeast Yarrowia lipolytica. By altering specific biological processes within the yeast, the creation of new types of lipid molecules became possible. The research findings highlight the high potential of this yeast in producing non-acetylated sphingoid bases and human-type glucosylceramides, which could serve as valuable components in cosmetics or nutritional supplements. To investigate the profiles of gene expression in C4-hyroxylase, SUR2, disrupted mutant strain, we performed mRNA seq analysis of sur2 deleted mutant strain compared to the Yarrowia lipolytica wild-type strain which were cultivated in YPD medium. The experiment collected data through two replicates.
