Fishing & Plastics

This dataset uses data gathered from the Marine Debris Tracker, an app used by citizen and accredited scientists to log and geotag waste found on shorelines, and was gathered by Civic Laboratory for Environmental Action Research (CLEAR). The tens of thousands of entries were used in CLEAR’s Regional report on plastic pollution in Newfoundland and Labrador, 1962-2019. This data was downloaded from https://marinedebris.engr.uga.edu/, and cleaned by Max Liboiron, April 2020 ([e-mail]). All data is public, and is inclusive to years Jan 1, 2014 - Dec 31, 2019.
