After 7-day acclimation, the animals were divided into 6 groups : control group (Control), DSS group (DSS), DSS plus Mesalazine group (ME, 200 mg/kg), and DSS plus HQD-treated groups (HQD, 2.275, 4.55 and 9.1 g/kg, respectively). The mice were exposed to 7-days 3% DSS drinking freely. The control group received normal sterile water without DSS. HQD and ME were administered by oral gavage daily according to the doses mentioned above. The faeces microbiota in mice was characterized by high-throughput Illumina MiSeq sequencing.
