People and Parks / South Australian Murray-Darling Basin / Encouraging use of and community work in Parks

This project is the assessment, development of plans and the implementation of activities that will reward and encourage visitors to public parks to increase community awareness of habitat and species conservation, to ensure that all members of the community can enjoy natural areas and to encourage the involvement of volunteers in actively working on conservation projects enhancing connectivity, condition and recovery actions for threatened species. Participants will learn about the wide variety of uses for natural areas, the environmental community groups who currently engage with these areas and opportunities through Local Government, tourism, sporting clubs and other users of public land to meet both conservation and community goals
