Leaf Transcriptome of Lespedeza bicolor

Our objectives of this study were: (a) to generate ESTs throught whole transcriptome sequencing of L. bicolor; (b) to develop a de novo transcriptome assembly; (c) to annotate the transcriptome using publicly available databases and tools; (d) to generate genetic resources regarding EST-SSR markers, genes and pathways; (e) to examine the transferability of EST-SSR markers to other nine closely related species. The transcriptome data generated from L. bicolor might be helpful to improve further genetic and genomic studies of this species and congeners.
