This dataset provides field observations and modelling outputs used to investigate bedload transport dynamics during a moderate flood event in the upper Moselle River (north-eastern France). It was collected and processed to compare two complementary approaches: (i) bedload fluxes derived from acoustic monitoring, and (ii) bedload fluxes simulated by a two-dimensional hydro-sedimentary model. Results highlight differences in instantaneous fluxes but convergence in cumulative fluxes, with acoustic monitoring capturing clockwise hysteresis and early sediment mobilization, while the model provided discharge-dependent responses.
