Deidentified dataset: Foreign Language Classroom Boredom and Academic Achievement among Preparatory-Year Health Science Students in Saudi Arabia

Deidentified dataset (n = 307) from a cross-sectional survey of foreign language classroom boredom among male preparatory-year health science students at a Saudi university. Contains 28 item-level responses from an Arabic adaptation of the Foreign Language Learning Boredom Scale (FLLBS; seven dimensions: classroom boredom, under-challenging tasks, PowerPoint presentations, homework, teacher-dislike, general learning trait, and over-challenging/meaningless tasks), demographic variables (course, academic track, self-reported proficiency, secondary school type), and examination scores (midterm, final exam, adjusted final course mark). All direct identifiers (names, emails, student IDs, instructor names, timestamps, free-text responses) have been removed and Arabic categorical values translated to English. A data dictionary describing all 36 variables is included. Collected in the second semester of the 2024–2025 academic year under IRB approval of King Abdullah International Medical Research Centre (No. 0000077424).
