Pilot survey on the day of border opening, hopes and fears, free elections, leaving the GDR, political attitudes. Topics: Development in the last four weeks; results of the congress of the Central Committee of the SED; attitude to the election system; understanding of the term "free elections"; knowledge about the election program of the parties and organizations; possibilities of financing travel to the west; relatives and friends who have left and understanding for this; personal departure intents; reasons for remaining in the GDR; understanding for returnees. Pilotbefragung am Tage der Grenzöffnung, Hoffnungen und Befürchtungen, freie Wahlen, Ausreise aus der DDR, politische Einstellungen. Themen: Entwicklung in den letzten vier Wochen; Ergebnisse der Tagung des ZK der SED; Einstellung zum Wahlsystem; Verständnis des Begriffes "freie Wahlen"; Kenntnis der Wahlprogramme der Parteien und Organisationen; Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten von Westreisen; Verwandte und Freunde, die ausgereist sind und Verständnis dafür; eigene Ausreiseabsichten; Gründe für das Verbleiben in der DDR; Verständnis für Rückkehrer.
