Dye-degrading bacteria were isolated from effluents of Master Textile Mills situated at Lahore, Pakistan. For isolation, enrichment culture technique followed by serial dilution was used. Bacteria were isolated and cultured in minimal salt medium supplemented with disperse-blue dye as the only carbon source. DNA extracted from dye degrading bacteria was processed for whole-genome shotgun sequencing in the form of consortium.
