Whole genome sequencing of Trueperella pyogenes isolated from liver abscesses in beef cattle

Purulent material from liver abscesses was collected post-mortem from the severely abscessed livers. The cattle were mixed breed and were raised in a commercial feedlot operation in southern Alberta. Trueperella pyogenes was isolated and whole genome sequencing carried out on the resulting isolates. These data will contribute to the body of knowledge regarding the microbial processes involved in the development of liver abscesses in cattle as well as the mechanisms employeed by this important livestock pathogento cause infection in a variety of tissues.
