Camponotus (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) ecomorphospace: Morphological evolution mediated by nesting adaptation in South American carpenter ants

This deposit contains all raw and processed data, analysis scripts, phylogenetic information, and software necessary to replicate the analyses and results presented in the study "Camponotus (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) ecomorphospace: Morphological evolution mediated by nesting adaptation in South American carpenter ants." In this work, we investigated morphological variation in species of the genus *Camponotus* and its relationship with nesting sites. Using geometric morphometrics and multivariate analyses, we found that morphological variation, while showing a moderate phylogenetic signal, is not randomly organized in shape space. Instead, it structures into four distinct patterns corresponding to ecomorphic nesting syndromes (ENS).
