ASKAP CRAFT Data

The Commensal Real-time ASKAP Fast Transients (CRAFT) Survey project is the high-time resolution survey for fast radio transients on the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP). Its aim is to survey the Universe for impulsive astrophysical phenomena at radio frequencies between about 700 and 1500 MHz. A particular target of interest is the newly-discovered class of highly-luminous Fast Radio Bursts or FRB. Through CRAFT, ASKAP will provide the testbed of many of the key technologies and survey modes proposed for high time resolution science with the SKA. The CRAFT project has already detected a few FRBs with ASKAP during its commissioning as recently published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/2041-8213/aa71ff and also presented in several Australian and international media. This Pawsey storage will aid the CRAFT project in the discovery of more of this FRBs.
