Genome sequencing technologies have been improved at an exponential pace but precise chromosome-scale genome assembly continues to be a great challenge. The genome of cultivated G. arboreum was sequenced and assembled with whole-genome shotgun approach. However, different comparative analysis reported that previously sequenced genome of G. arboreum contained various mis-assemblies. To address this problem, we generated an improved re-assembly of G. arboreum chromosome 12 and evaluate this reconstruction with homologous chromosomes of G. raimondii and G. hirsutum by different comparative analysis.
