Note: 1) IL-6 test was performed in non-febrile patients only while PCT test was performed in both febrile and non-febrile patients. 2) All pairwise comparisons for PCT have a p < 0.001. 3) All pairwise comparisons for IL-6 have a p<0.0001 except the comparison between the patients with cancer stages I, II, and III vs IV (p = 0.2).
