Reconstructed Neutron CT Volumes of Archaeological Iron Nail at Multiple Exposure Times (Filtered Backprojection using MuhRec)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains reconstructed neutron computed tomography (CT) volumes of an archaeological iron nail, scanned at seven systematically varied exposure times: 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 20s, and 50s per projection. Reconstruction was performed using the filtered backprojection algorithm in MuhRec, an open-source neutron imaging software. Each exposure time corresponds to one ZIP archive (01_ct05s.zip to 07_ct50s.zip) containing: A stack of 16-bit TIFF axial slices (e.g., ct50s0999.tif), with slice indices reflecting their position in the vertical scan range. A MuhRec configuration file, specifying all reconstruction parameters. A citation file for MuhRec credit. Physical meaning: The reconstructed values represent neutron attenuation coefficients (in cm⁻¹), scaled using the known pixel size. This allows quantitative assessment of corrosion structures and internal density changes within the iron artifact. Only slices intersecting the nail are included, so numbering does not start from 0001. This dataset supports denoising, segmentation, corrosion quantification, and exposure-time dependent analysis of neutron tomography data. It complements a corresponding dataset of raw projection data (see related DOI).
