VPRS 16307 Register of Records of Petitions of Winding up Orders, Self- indexed

This series was created to provide access to records of petitions received by the Supreme Court under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1896 (No 1482) and Companies Act 1900 (No 1645) to wind up companies. The application (for winding up) to the court was by petition presented by the company or by any creditor or members of the company as contributors.The winding up or liquidation of a company was the process by which a company's assets were collected and sold in order to pay its debts. The plaintiff or the applicant was required to file a supporting affidavit with the petition for the winding up of the company by the court.The information recorded includes: number of the petition, name of the company, address of the registered office, description of company, date of petition, name of petitioner, date of winding up order.
