SJRWMD Water Control Districts Ch 298

This dataset represents the water control districts (WCDs) that are located in whole or in part in St. Johns Water Management District. These districts own and operate a variety of facilities and, due to their size and role in flood control and drainage for agricultural and urban purposes, have significant impacts on surface water management in the areas where they operate. These WCDs are subject to Chapter 298 of the Florida Statutes and are required to have water control plans describing their activities and improvements. These plans are subject to the SJRWMD review for consistency with applicable water resource plans and policies. Boundaries were mapped by SJRWMD IT staff based on legal descriptions in F.S. 298.
