Plant-associated microbiota play a vital role in promoting plant growth and health, including enhancing resistance to various diseases. Despite significant advances in understanding plant resistance mechanisms, the precise role of endophytic microbes in enhancing Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng) resistance to soil-borne diseases remains unclear. Here, we isolated two microbial strains from healthy ginseng roots that exhibited growth-promoting properties and effectively suppressed the incidence of root rot. We further explored their underlying mechanisms of action.
