Microbial Dynamics and Soil Organic Matter Recovery in Post-forest landscape

This dataset contains soil microbial community sequencing data collected across a land-use chronosequence in Cote d'Ivoire. The study investigates how conversion from natural forest to agricultural systems (e.g., cocoa, coffee, oil palm, and rubber plantations) influences soil microbial diversity and its relationship with soil organic carbon dynamics. Using high-throughput sequencing approaches, the project aims to characterize microbial community composition and identify taxa and metabolic pathways associated with soil organic matter loss or recovery following deforestation and agricultural use. The dataset contributes to understanding the role of soil microbiota in soil fertility restoration and sustainable land management in tropical agroecosystems.
