资源简介:
Pollen and macrofloral analyses were undertaken at the KP Site (LA
46300) in Santa Fe, New Mexico in an effort to identify elements of the
subsistence base. This site is located in the northwest quadrant of Santa
Fe in an area that probably supported pinyon and juniper prior to
development. A swampy area was noted east of the plaza area in historic
records (Wiseman, personal communication, March 1985). The pitstructure,
which was partially excavated at this site, was dated to AD 1140 + 50
(corrected, AD 1060 ± 30 uncorrected) by two radiocarbon samples taken from
the floor. Trash fill accumulated in the pitstructure for perhaps 10-30
years (Wiseman, personal communication, March 1985). Three cut dates were
obtained through tree-ring analysis of material from the trash fill,
yielding dates of AD 1116, AD 1117, and AD 1120. This places the building
of the pitstructure closer to AD 1100 than AD 1140. Pollen and macrofloral
samples were taken from the floor and trash fill of the pitstructure.
