This data set presents anti-corrosive as well structure properties of the hydrogen-absorbing AB5-type alloy (LaMmNi4.1Al0.3Mn0.4Co0.45) in KOH electrolytes containing ionic liquids (ILs). In this case ethyl-methylimidazole and propyl-methyl-methylimidazole, both with bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide anion were applied. Hydrogen-absorbing alloys are utlized as an negative half-cells in Ni-MH batteries. The use of the above-mentioned ionic liquids made it possible to reduce the rate of corrosion of alloys.The data files contain results of the alloy characterization:energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) results;capacity tests results;potentiodynamic polarization results.
