ENHYDROSS core dataset and 3D models

This repository accompanies the manuscript“ENHYDROSS: A new mechanistic model supports the trans-oceanic dispersal capability of terrestrial vertebrates” (Pantelides et al., 2026), published in Ecology and Evolution. https://doi.org/10.1002/ece3.73280 The repository provides the core dataset and 3D models required to reproduce the main quantitative results of the study. Supplementary Information files (S1–S8), which contain extended derivations, figures, and methodological details, are hosted directly by the journal and are therefore not included here. The repository includes the following materials: ENHYDROSS core dataset (Excel file) A single Excel workbook comprising 19 sheets that implement the mechanistic components of the ENHYDROSS model. These include model parameters, computational workflows, results, and sensitivity tests. The dataset contains anatomical inputs, hydrodynamic calculations, metabolic rate estimates, and Cretaceous palaeodistance measurements between Iberia and Africa, together with their corresponding palaeocoordinates. 3D models (STL files) Six STL files representing five animal taxa analysed in the study, used to obtain anatomical dimensions for hydrodynamic analyses. The saltwater crocodile is provided in two configurations (floating and swimming), as described in the main text and Supplementary File S6.
