This dataset contains the observed experimental results from a model study to investigate the hydraulic improvements, under inlet control, that can be obtained by installing a headwall/wingwall combination inlets. The experimental model was undertaken at the University of Pretoria Waterlab. The dataset contains the measured flow (m3/s) vs the measured upstream head (m) for three different inlets, namely a 90 degree inlet, a 45 degree inlet and a 30 degree inlet. The dataset forms underpinned a dissertation on improvements to the hydraulic performance of culverts under inlet control conditions through the optimisation of inlet characteristics.
