High-rate contact stabilization and chemically enhanced primary treatment integrated process

The high-rate contact stabilization process (HRCS) and chemically enhanced primary treatment (CEPT) processes were integrated to improve organic removal and energy recovery from sewage. The HRCS process is efficient in recovering energy from sewage, but has the problem of low effluent quality due to sludge floating. When integrated with the CEPT process to improve the sedimentation of floating sludge, it was observed how the population of the HRCS process shifts due to the influence of the coagulant.
