Colobanthus quitensis is one of two flowering plants native to Antarctica. The documented ability of C. quitensis to endure freezing temperatures implies that C. quitensis constantly faces frequent freeze thaw injuries, necessitating recovery to ensure its survival and growth. While numerous studies have been conducted on freezing tolerance of C. quitensis, no research exists on the genomic resources for this species.We generated de novo assembly of the whole genome sequence of the Antarctic pearlwort C. quitensis. The linked-read based technology with 10X Genomics Chromium chemistry and Supernova assembler produced a highly continuous draft genome of C. quitensis: ca. 0.91Gb assembly (scaffold N50 2.3Mb; the longest individual scaffold 13.3Mb; BUSCO completeness of 95.6%).
