The fermentation of lupine seeds for seasoning sauces presents an alternative to the use of soybeans; however, Chromohalobacter species took a major part in the microbiota of lupine Moromi. Here we investigate the adaptation to this special habitat and the differences between closely related Chromohalobacter species.
