The Broad Institute conducted a comparative genomic analysis of several Saccharomyces species, including Saccharomyces bayanus. They produced a high-quality draft sequence of the Saccharomyces bayanus strain MCYC 623 genome at 6.4X sequence coverage using a whole genome shotgun (WGS) approach. The assembly, which represents approximately 98% of the Saccharomyces bayanus genome, consists of 1,098 contigs. The WGS sequences have been deposited at GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ under the project accession AACA00000000.
