资源简介:
The De-Icing Comparison Experiment (D-ICE) was carried out at the NOAA Atmospheric Baseline Observatory in Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow), Alaska, from August 2017 to July 2018. The purpose of D-ICE was to evaluate ventilation and heating technologies developed to mitigate radiometer icing. D-ICE consisted of 20 pyranometers and 5 pyrgeometers operating in various ventilator housings alongside the Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN) station operated by NOAA. Broadband downwelling longwave and shortwave fluxes were measured and the radiometers were monitored using cameras. Icing conditions and occurrences of ice on radiometer domes were recorded based on manual review of the camera images. This data set contains one minute averages of the radiometric data, the icing determinations and ancillary data (such meteorology and housekeeping information form the sensors). Three versions of the fluxes are provided: the raw data (no quality control), data that is quality-controlled and verifiably ice-free, and data that is quality controlled but where occurrences of ice contaminated measurements are retained. The data set is suitable for analysis of the effects of ice on broadband radiometric data.
