Verfahrensdokumentation für PSCA-D: Pictorial Scale of Perceived Competence and Social Acceptance - deutsche Fassung

Die PSCA-D soll das Selbstbild von 7-8-jährigen Kindern in den vier Bereichen (1) Kognitive Kompetenz, (2) Sportkompetenz, (3) Peerakzeptanz und (4) Mutterakzeptanz durch altersgemäß bebilderte Items für Forschung, Individualdiagnostik und Differentialdiagnostik mit je sechs Items (= insg. 24 Items) erfassen. Die deutsche Version beruht auf der PSCA von Harter und Pike (1981, 1984). Reliabilität: In der deutschen Stichprobe war die interne Konsistenz nach Cronbach für Peerakzeptanz (Alpha = .81) und Kognitive Kompetenz (Alpha = .71) ausreichend, für Sportkompetenz (Alpha = .58) und Mutterakzeptanz (Alpha = .63) unbefriedigend. Die interne Konsistenz des Gesamtwerts betrug Alpha = .85. Validität: In der deutschen Stichprobe variierten die Subskaleninterkorrelationen zwischen r = .32 und r = .50. Eine konfirmatorische Faktorenanalyse mit LISREL VI bestätigte eine befriedigende Passung des Vierfaktorenmodells und eine signifikant schlechtere Passung eines von Harter und Pike (1984) aufgrund exploratorischer Faktorenanalysen bevorzugten Zweifaktorenmodells. Die Skalen wiesen also diskriminante Validität auf (interpretierbar als Bereichsspezifität des Selbstkonzepts). Korrelationen mit externen Kriterien wie fachspezifisches Selbstkonzept, Schulnoten, IQ, motorische Koordination, Lehrerurteil Beliebtheit in der Klasse und Einsamkeit bestätigten die Bereichsspezifität der Subskalen. The PSCA-D is intended to measure the self-image of 7-8-year-old children in the four areas of (1) cognitive competence, (2) sports competence, (3) peer acceptance and (4) mother acceptance by means of age-appropriate illustrated items for research, individual diagnosis and differential diagnosis, each with six items (= total of 24 items). The German version is based on the PSCA of Harter and Pike (1981, 1984). Reliability: In the German sample the internal consistency according to Cronbach was sufficient for peer acceptance (alpha = .81) and cognitive competence (alpha = .71), but unsatisfactory for sports competence (alpha = .58) and mother acceptance (alpha = .63). The internal consistency of the overall value was Alpha = .85. Validity: In the German sample, subscale intercorrelations varied between r = .32 and r = .50. A confirmatory factor analysis with LISREL VI confirmed a satisfactory fit of the four-factor model and a significantly worse fit of a two-factor model preferred by Harter and Pike (1984) based on exploratory factor analysis. The scales thus showed discriminant validity (interpretable as area specificity of the self-concept). Correlations with external criteria such as subject-specific self-concept, school grades, IQ, motor coordination, teacher judgement, popularity in class and loneliness confirmed the area specificity of the subscales. reviewed publishedVersion
