EPM28800 was granted to Swansands Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Iluka Resources Limited on 10 August 2023 for a period of five years, expiring on 10 August 2028.
Swansands applied to the Department of Resources for a total surrender of the licence on 20 January 2025. The surrender was subsequently granted on 17 March, with a back date effective 20 January 2025.
This report covers the work undertaken by Iluka on EPM28800 during the Licence period from date of grant, 10 August 2023 to 17 March 2025 to explore for heavy mineral concentrations of economic significance. Although activities occurred outside of the licence period due to the retrospective grant of surrender, activities have been included for the Departments records.
Works undertaken included a comprehensive desktop review, field reconnaissance, mapping, land access and stakeholder engagement, an air core drilling program and associated rehabilitation.
