Pipe biofilm was investigated by digging up operational DWDS (drinking water distribution system) pipes and sequenced with 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing (V3-V4). Bulk water in the DWTP (drinking water treatment plant) and at various locations in the DWDS was also investigated.
