Fortescue Group regional-scale metasomatism study

Multi-element whole rock geochemical data, electron microprobe mineral chemical data, and XRD data for samples collected from the Fortescue Group volcanics, Hamerlsey Basin, Western Australia. Data comprise spreadsheet tables of analysis results.\nLineage: One part of the whole rock geochemical data set was collected in 2012-2013 by Genalysis Laboratory Services, Perth, Australia. Results were supplied in spreadsheet form.\n\nThe remainder of the whole-rock geochemical data were collected in 1978 by General Superintendence Company Pty Ltd., Perth, Australia, and have since been archived by R.E. Smith in database format. These data have not been previously published.\n\nThe mineral chemical data were obtained in 2013 with a JEOL 8530F Hyperprobe Field Emission Gun Electron Probe Microanalyser at the Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation, and Analysis at the University of Western Australia. Data were processed using the Probe for EPMA software.\n\nXRD data were collected on whole-rock powders in 2012-2013 using a Bruker D4 Endeavor at the Australian Resources Research Centre, Perth, Australia. Data was interpreted with the Bruker DIFFRAC.SUITE EVA software package.
