The Jamaican fruit bat (Artibeus jamaicensis) possesses a hemochorial placenta, the cellular composition and gene expression of which remains poorly understood. To establish a model of the Jamaican fruit bat placenta we derived trophoblast organoids. We performed single-nuclei RNA sequencing to investigate the transcriptional profile of these trophoblast cells.
