资源简介:
Project title:Production, characterization, and application of L-asparaginases from indigenous marine bacteria of the Arabian Gulf, Saudi ArabiaAuthors:Ghofran M. AL-Harbi, Essam K. Ghareeb, Ebtesam A. Al-Suhaimi and Mahmoud M. Berekaa* The bacterial candidate STF-1 was isolated from Arabian Gulf shores, especially from Dammam region. The isolate STF-1 was isolated from Patiria miniata as a source of L-asparaginase-producing bacteria. L-asparaginase produced from this bacterial strain can be a promising source of L-asparaginase enzyme that have a potent effect against different tumor cells thus can be used for cancer treatment.* The bacterial candidate showed a gram-negative rod-shaped cell. 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis revealed high similarity to Psychrobacter phenylpyruvicus strains, thus given the name P. phenylpyruvicus strain STF-1* Note: Patiria miniata is commonly known as the bat star, is a species of sea star in the family Asterinidae. It typically has five arms, though it can have up to nine, and features webbing between its arms resembling bat wings. The bat star is an omnivorous scavenger, feeding on algae, sponges, and detritus, and reproduces through external fertilization in the ocean.
