The reinforced paper includes a nonwoven fiber mat impregnated with a polyetherimide composition. Nonwoven fiber mats include reinforcing fibers， high strength toughening fibers， or combinations thereof. The polyetherimide composition comprises a polyetherimide having repeat units as defined herein. Methods of making reinforced paper are also disclosed. The method includes contacting at least a portion of the nonwoven fiber mat with the composition to form a prepreg and heating under conditions effective to provide a reinforced paper.
