Ecologically effective and environmentally just NbS

The dataset includes the QCA scores, scoring scheme and R-Scripts for an analysis of the conditions under which Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are both ecologically effective in terms of biodiversity or water resource protection, and environmentally just, in terms of distribution, procedure, and recognition. Scores are based on empirical field work in six case studies in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, France, La Palma (Spain), and Portugal conducted from May 2022 to January 2026. The French case is scored twice, once by researchers and once by representatives of an entity involved in NbS management. The RScripts contain the analysis for the joint outcome (ecologically effective and environmentally just) and for the separate ones (ecologically effective, environmentally just). They were run with the CSV-file "QCA_rev1", which is also included in the dataset and which includes aggregated scores. Scores before aggregation are available in the Excel file "QCA scoring scheme, aggregation, full scores".
