The datasets provided here are optical micrograph time series showing the evolution of cracks during a four-point bending test on 7xxx aluminium alloys in hot humid air. Tests were conducted on AA7050-T7651 at 95% yield stress and AA7085-T7651 at 85% yield stress. Environmental conditions were 70°C and 50% RH (relative humidity) in both cases. Further details of this experiments can be found in the associated publication <b>[https://doi.org/10.1016/j.matdes.2025.113867]</b>The time series are provided in two formats:1) TIFF stack (.zip) - Full resolution large area micrographs, stitched together from individual tile images (acquired in-situ) using MIST plug in within ImageJ software, as described in <b>[https://doi.org/10.1016/j.corsci.2023.111051]</b>2) Movies (.gifs) - Assembled from the above images after reducing the X and Y resolution by a factor of 2 to reduce the file size (there is very little loss in the image quality)
