Maize seed germination ability is affected by low temperature stress in high latitude area. The elite hybrid variety Jingke968 performs better seed germination ability compared with its parents, Jing724 and Jing92. To investigate the molecular basis of seed germination ability heterosis of Jingke968, we carried out the RNA-seq assays with the germinated embryo RNAs of Jing968, Jing724 and Jing92 under low temperature (10 degrees Celsius) and room temperature (25 degrees Celsius as control) treatments. The genes involved in seed germination ability heterosis will be identified.
